The goal of our group is to restore our government back to its proper function. The proper function of the government is to be a humble servant, to recognize the inalienable and self-evident rights given to us by the creator.

Among those rights, which our brave forefathers shed their blood for, were the right to life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness and the acquisition of private property.

Our constitution specified that the major duties of the government were to provide a climate, which would promote the general welfare of the nation, and to provide for a common defense.

The role of the federal government was limited to 19 specified duties listed in article one of the United States Constitution.

We were supposed to have a small federal government.

We at the American Minutemen know that all levels of government have significantly grown in size, and their involvement in our lives has drastically reduced the opportunities and freedoms that previous generations had.

Our government has grown in size and its infringements into the lives of the American citizens are far greater today than the British government we fought a revolution against.

The American Minutemen believe that the biggest problem today is not the government officials, but the American People.

Despite the growth of government, the American people still have the ability to correct and change things to their proper order, if only we would take responsibility and get involved.
